What Are the No Restriction Sender ID Countries?

Some countries and mobile network operators may allow SMS messages to be sent using either a numeric Sender ID or an alphanumeric Sender ID, depending on the available route, destination network, and local operator rules.

This guide shows the countries and network operators that are commonly listed under the no restriction Sender ID category. In these destinations, Sender ID usage may be more flexible compared to countries that require only alphanumeric Sender IDs, only numeric Sender IDs, masked Sender IDs, or registered Sender IDs.

Before sending a large SMS campaign, we always recommend sending a small test message first. Sender ID display can still vary depending on the destination country, selected route, operator filtering, message content, and telecom regulations.

If you are new to Sender IDs, you can also review the Sender ID Knowledge Base or learn more about available routes from the BulkSMSOnline SMS Routing page.

What Does “No Restriction Sender ID” Mean?

A no restriction Sender ID destination generally means the country or listed mobile network may accept both numeric and alphanumeric sender formats. For example, you may be able to send SMS using a brand name, company name, or number as the sender, where supported.

However, “no restriction” does not always mean that every Sender ID will be delivered exactly as entered. Some operators may still apply filtering, replacement, content checks, or route-based changes. For this reason, testing is important before sending important traffic such as OTP messages, account alerts, marketing campaigns, payment notifications, or customer reminders.

Important Notes Before Sending SMS

  • Sender ID behavior can vary: Even if a country is listed as no restriction, the final sender name shown to the recipient may depend on the route, operator, message content, and local network rules.
  • Test before sending large traffic: Always send a small test message first to confirm how the Sender ID appears on the recipient’s phone.
  • Use compliant content: Avoid spam, phishing links, misleading offers, impersonation, unauthorized brand names, or restricted content.
  • Check country-specific rules: Some operators may update their Sender ID requirements without notice.
  • Use the correct number format: Recipient numbers should include the full country code and should not contain spaces, brackets, or unnecessary symbols.
